Her research area focuses on exile and the construction of identity through literature, a field in which she has published and presented different papers at international conferences, contributing to the recovery and preservation of historical memory. Her work is particularly centered on exile literature and the analysis of cultural identity in contemporary Peninsular and Latin American literature, connecting historical collective memory and identity with cultural studies and literary criticism.
Among Blanca Gimeno麓s publications is the first monographic book on the Spanish writer and journalist Cecilia G. de Guilarte, called聽Cecilia G. de Guilarte.聽Un discurso valiente en el exilio espa帽ol de 1939 en M茅xico聽(2018). The book includes the author鈥檚 literary corpus along with a critical study that contributes to the recovery of her work during her period of exile.
