    The Hamre Center for Health & Wellness offers integrated medical,听counseling,听health promotion, and听sexual violence prevention听services and programs for all students and serves as a resource supporting the entire Macalester community鈥檚 effort to build a healthy campus.听To schedule a counseling or medical appointment please call 651-696-6275 or email听[email protected].

    Free, Urgent, Phone Counseling (Press 2) is available to Macalester students anywhere in the world, 24/7/365. Speak to a licensed mental health counselor 24 hours a day by calling Hamre Center at 651-696-6275, then press or say option 2 when prompted.听

    Free, nurse triage line (Press 3) is available to Macalester students, 24/7/365. NurseNow can be reached by calling the Hamre Center 651-696-6275, and selecting option 3.听 NurseNow is familiar with emergency referral resources in the area and will provide the Hamre Center with a report of the call.听 You can either share your name when you call or can remain anonymous.

    We all cope with life stressors in different ways: we binge-watch shows, we go for walks, we play video games, we eat chocolate, we talk with friends, we cry, we use substances. Some of these coping strategies, while reducing psychological pain in the short term, don鈥檛 help us over time. Do you wonder if your substance use (whether it鈥檚 alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs) is causing things to happen in your life that you did not intend or want? You can assess your own use with the following three tools.



    Prescription Drug Safety Online Course

    Learn knowledge and skills to help keep you, your friends, and our Macalester community healthy and safe.听 This online course is a great way to educate yourself about the risk associated with prescription medication abuse, and how to help prevent misuse and abuse from occurring.听 This 30 minute course includes interactive scenarios and self-guided activities.

  • Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, or Discrimination Complaints and Concerns

    The Title IX and Bias Harassment Office oversees college policies related to all forms of discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. Community members in need of supportive measures or wishing to file a report related to any of these are encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator at [email protected].
