Professor Mu\u00f1oz’s research and teaching interests include contemporary Latin American narrative, popular culture, gender studies, border studies, and U.S. Latino\/a literature. More specifically, she conducts research on representations of women’s violence, articulations of urban space, and women’s participation in drug trafficking. She teaches all levels of Spanish language as well as upper-level courses such as \u201cIntroduction to U.S. Latinx Studies,\u201d \u201cConstructions of a Female Killer,\u201d and \u201cFrontera: The U.S.\/Mexico Border.\u201d As a former Mellon Mays fellow, she particularly enjoys working with Macalester’s MMUF program.<\/p>\n
