Applications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To register for a parking permit, an <a href=\"https:\/\/macalester.omnigo.one\/CESIReportExec\/OPR\/OPRMain.aspx?IsAuth=1&amp;groupid=103&amp;groupname=DEPARTMENT+OF+PUBLIC+SAFETY\">online permit application<\/a> must be submitted. Once the application is approved and processed, your permit will be issued. Faculty\/Staff and Residential Student permits will be sent through campus mail, all others can be picked up up from the Department of Public Safety at the Facilities Services Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For detailed instructions on completing your application, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/public-safety\/parking-bicycle\/parking-permit-online-registration\/\">Parking Permit Online Registration<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Permit Distribution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once permit applications have been process, students will be notified that their permit is ready and can be picked up from the Facilities Services office in the Music building, across from the West 2 parking lot. Office hours are Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4:30pm or Fri 7:30am-noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty\/Staff<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Permits will be sent through inter-campus mail<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Personal Vehicle Parking Permits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular parkers are required to obtain a parking permit and display a college issued decal in the rearmost drivers side window of their vehicle.&nbsp; All parking spaces are first come, first serve, unless otherwise signed or reserved. There is no charge for permits for&nbsp;students, staff, faculty, and visitors.&nbsp;&nbsp;Because of limited parking space, we encourage&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/sustainability\/transportation\/#\/0\">Alternative means of commuting<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/macalester.omnigo.one\/CESIReportExec\/OPR\/OPRMain.aspx?IsAuth=1&amp;groupid=103&amp;groupname=DEPARTMENT+OF+PUBLIC+SAFETY\">Parking permits can be obtained in applying online<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ÈÕº«¾«Æ·or parking spots are reserved for visitors to the campus and are not for the use of students, staff, or faculty. &nbsp;Violators will be ticketed or towed at the owner\u2019s expense<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resident student registration is valid for one year, September to August. Non-resident student registration is valid for one semester at a time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First year students are not eligible to park on campus; medical and work-related exceptions may be requested by submitting a <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/CaLFFKNGA6mQhbzP7\">First Year Parking Exemption<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not have a valid parking permit, you may receive a parking violation. All violation fees may be paid at the Facilities Services Office during business hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long term parkers are required to use the West 2 lot near Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">West 2 Parking Lot Restrictions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Residential Parking Location<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Vehicles with Residential parking permits must park in the last row of the lot. This lot is designated with red stripes and signage. Residential permitted vehicles parked outside of this zone may be ticketed or towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Snow Emergency<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When a snow emergency is declared, all vehicles must be moved from the lot to a designated area. Vehicles that are not moved will be towed, issued a non-compliance fee charged to their student account, and parking privileges revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long Term Parking<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Vehicles parked in this lot over holiday breaks must apply for a Long-term parking permit. Vehicles receiving a Long-term parking permit must park in the designated area.
