Macalester has a long tradition of participation and success in competitions for Mathematics, Applied Math, and Computer Science. The Competitions & Problem Solving page lists competitions students participate in, and how to get involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Competitions & Problem Solving<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Macalester\u2019s location in the Twin Cities provides many opportunities for internships both during the semester and during the summer. Students also complete internships at companies around the country over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Job and Iternship Postings<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n MSCS students do study abroad, both in programs that relate to MSCS fields, and in programs that involve no mathematics, statistics, computer science, or data science. Students interested in study abroad should discuss this with their advisors early on, so that college and major requirements are taken care of either through the program or around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Study Abroad<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Many MSCS students work with faculty on research both during the school year and over the summer.
