Professor Milligan does fieldwork on Menominee, an Algonquian language spoken in Wisconsin. 聽 Her research includes work on the phonology, morphology and phonetics of Menominee. 聽 She has done two ethnopoetic translations of traditional Menominee tales, and is currently working on a dictionary of Menominee with Dr. Macaulay at the University of Wisconsin.聽 At Macalester she has taught Endangered and Minority Languages; 100 Words for Snow: Language and Nature; Sociolinguistics; and Historical Linguistics.
