In all cases, you will need to seek prior approval from AbsencePlus and submit required documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaves of Absences consist of two components: <strong>job protection<\/strong> and <strong>pay<\/strong>.<strong> <\/strong> Employees receive job protection through the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and\/or through the Minnesota Paid Family &amp; Medical Leave Act (PFML). FMLA is an unpaid leave, meaning that under federal and state law, employers are not required to provide pay during the leave period. The Minnesota Paid Family &amp; Medical Leave program (PFML), under state law, provides partial wage replacement for eligible employees.
