{"id":264,"date":"2018-01-16T05:27:11","date_gmt":"2018-01-16T05:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/160-high-winds\/leonardcenter\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T17:03:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T22:03:48","slug":"leonardcenter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/highwinds\/community\/programs\/leonardcenter\/","title":{"rendered":"Leonard Center Community Memberships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">New memberships for 2026-27 will be open for registration on Friday, May 1st at 9:00AM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The link will be posted here when registration opens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The High Winds Fund at 日韩精品 provides an opportunity for some of our closest neighbors to purchase a membership to the Leonard Center through our Community Membership program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must live within our <b>close neighbor boundary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for eligibility: your primary address must be located between the south side of Ashland Avenue and the north side of Jefferson Avenue and between the east side of Fairview Avenue and the west side of Pascal Street.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Leonard Center Membership will also allow you access to the Macalester Library. If you are interested in a Library Only Community Membership, please follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/library\/about\/info-for-visitors\/\">this link.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More information on the Leonard Center Community Memberships:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Annual membership runs from <\/span><b>June 1 through May 31.<\/b> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The LC Community Membership annual dues <\/span>for the &#8217;26-&#8217;27 academic year are:<b> $500 per individual<\/b>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New members will need a new <\/span><b>Macalester ID card <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to access the building. There is a one-time charge of <strong>$25 for processing the new card<\/strong>. There is a $10 charge to replace a lost Macalester ID card.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The LC is shared by many and<\/span><b> the primary focus of the facility is to serve our Macalester students<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ensuring a great student experience. As a Community Member, we appreciate your sensitivity to the timely use of equipment by our Varsity athletic teams and other Mac students.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.macalester.edu\/sports\/2011\/8\/25\/GEN_0825112913.aspx?id=190\">The Leonard Center<\/a> is staffed by students and hours are subject to change, especially during academic breaks and large festivities such as Reunion Weekend. Please check the Leonard Center website for <a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.macalester.edu\/sports\/2008\/7\/10\/GEN_0710084041\">current facility hours<\/a>. The<\/span><b> pool hours are extremely limited <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and change often as they are dependent on limited lifeguard availability and reservations for team use.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LC Community Members <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">will need to agree to the<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.macalester.edu\/documents\/2021\/8\/30\/\/Macalester_College_Athletics_Participation_Waiver_Leonard_Center.pdf?id=944\"> Liability waiver<\/a> as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.macalester.edu\/sports\/2011\/8\/25\/GEN_0825115329.aspx?id=191\">Policies and Procedures<\/a> of the LC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will automatically have access to the <\/span><b>Macalester Library<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with your new ID card. Please see <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/library\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the Library website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for updated library information. Library access for Community members will end at 8pm during the academic year so our librarians are able to focus on our students.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FAQs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do you have a waiting list?<\/strong> We no longer keep a waiting list. If you do not get in this year, please check the High Winds Fund website in April or May next year for the date and link for new membership registrations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Families? Children?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Unfortunately, Family memberships are not available for Community Members. Children ages 16 and older are eligible for individual Community Memberships.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Guests? Trainers? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unfortunately, outside Trainers are not allowed for the Community Memberships. There may be an opportunity to contract with the Macalester Athletic Training Staff. If you are interested, you may inquire at the desk in the weightroom. It is possible to host a Guest every now and then for a special reason. All guests must be pre-approved by the Athletic Office.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Is my membership refundable or transferable if I don&#8217;t use it? <\/b>We can&#8217;t refund, prorate, or transfer memberships. Please be aware that this is a busy facility and think carefully about the time that you will be able to use your membership before you join.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Why are the number of memberships limited? <\/b>Our first priority is our students. We recognize that although we have some capacity to share our space, it is limited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>If I can&#8217;t get an LC membership, could I still get a Library Card? <\/b>Yes! You will be able to sign up for Library Access.
