The Chopin Society presents pianist Zolt谩n Fej茅rv谩ri
Winner of the 2017 Montreal Competition and recipient of a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, Zoltán Fejérvári belongs to Hungary鈥檚 ever-growing crop of outstanding musicians. Early attention in the U.S. came from his participation in the Marlboro Music Festival from 2014-2016 and the 鈥楤uilding Bridges鈥 series established by András Schiff to highlight young pianists of unusual promise. He has given recitals in leading venues throughout Europe and North America and performed as soloist with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Hungarian National Orchestra, the Verbier Festival, and Concerto Budapest Orchestras, among others, and under the batons of Iván Fischer, Zoltán Kocsis, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, and Gábor Takács-Nagy. A passionate chamber musician, Zoltán has worked with the Keller and Kodály Quartets and foremost artists, such as Gary Hoffman, Joseph Lin, András Keller, and Steven Isserlis. His recording of Liszt鈥檚 Malédiction with the Budapest Chamber Symphony was awarded the 鈥楪rand prix du Disque鈥 in 2013. A CD of Mozart violin sonatas, with violinist Ern? Kállai, came out on the Hungaroton label in 2014. Slated for release by Piano Classics in June, 2019 is a solo album of Janá?ek. At home in Budapest, Zoltán teaches in the Chamber Music Department of the Liszt Academy, his alma mater.
鈥淔ejérvári鈥檚 playing is multi-layered and precise, requiring full concentration on the part of the audience. Every note has its own particular dynamic, character, and expression.鈥 鈥擪ultur Vollzug (Munich)
鈥淗e imbued even the most overt display pieces with subtlety and aristocratic insight.? 鈥 This is a pianist who needs to be heard more frequently in American concert halls. 鈥擲outh Florida Classical Review
