Come hear Macalester alumnus and author Tim O’Brien ’68 read from his new novel, America Fantastica, a road trip story that Publishers Weekly describes as “more Mad Max than National Lampoon’s Vacation.” O’Brien describes it as “a moral tug-of-war.” Tim O’Brien won the National Book Award for Going After Cacciato, and The Things They Carried has sold 2 million copies worldwide.

Members of the Macalester community are invited to join President Suzanne M. Rivera, Professor Peter Bognanni, and O’Brien for a reading and Q&A.

Following the event, copies of the book, which was released in October 2023, will be available for purchase and for O’Brien to sign. Tickets are free, but are required to attend the event since capacity is limited.
