Biology Seminar: "Expanding the Neuron Doctrine"
Please join the Biology Department for this faculty research talk with Michelle Tong!
鈥淔ire together, wire together鈥 has become a renowned adage in neuroscience to refer to the fact that neurons鈥 connections with one another is what underlie our memories. Much of memory research since Hebb鈥檚 famous statement has focused on neurons 鈥渨iring together.鈥 Much less attention has been given to non-neuronal mechanisms of memory including the extracellular matrix. In this talk, Dr. Michelle Tong will share results from her lab鈥檚 latest work examining the role of perineuronal nets in olfactory long-term memory. She will also share two upcoming projects in her lab.
